Dr. C. L. Easley, Jr.’s Bio

Dr. C. L. Easley, Jr., was born and raised in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Easley received his primary education from the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public Schools. He was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the Enon Baptist Church in 1985 and was ordained at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia in 1989. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor, School of Theology at Virginia Union University in 1989 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary as a Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor and Dr. Charles E. Booth Fellow in 1995.

In 39 years of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Dr. Easley has preached all over the United States of America, including Canada, Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia and Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Easley has preached in the Progressive National Baptist Convention and the E & M Baptist State Convention of South Carolina. Dr. Easley has also studied preaching at Oxford University’s Regents Park College in Oxford, England.

Dr. Easley has faithfully worked and served as a Staff Chaplain for Atrium Healthcare’s Hospice of Union County, in Monroe, North Carolina since November 2012. Dr. Easley has successfully pastored churches in Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Easley has been the faithful servant leader of the Cross Road Baptist Church of Rock Hill, South Carolina since October 2013. He is dedicated to leading and feeding the flock of God, leading the people of God in prayer, praise, and worship, developing leaders and empowering disciples. He is committed to community outreach and pastoral care. In September of 2021, Dr. Easley, led the Cross Road Baptist Church to pay off the church mortgage. Dr. Easley understands his ministry and life assignment is to empower, to educate and to equip.

He is also a member of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Incorporated, the Association of Professional Chaplains and the E&M Baptist State Convention of South Carolina. Likewise, he is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

Dr. Easley recently married the love of his life, Lady LaTonya. Dr. Easley and Lady LaTonya together, are the proud parents of five adult children and one granddaughter. Dr. Easley is also extremely grateful for the wise counsel of Dr. David C. Forbes, Sr., who is the Pastor Emeritus of the Christian Faith Baptist Church of Raleigh, North Carolina. In addition to that, Dr. Easley belongs to the New Life Baptist Church of Concord, North Carolina, under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Dr. Tommy Steele.
